Know the Parts of the Book

Students will be able to know the parts of the books

An outlined Performa will be given to the students they will identify the part of the book and write the title, name of author, publisher, price, and illustrator at the proper place. They will design the cover of the book. Example-

Building the story Pyramid

 

Step by step development of making a story.

Small pictorial books will be given to the students after reading that they will make a pyramid of the story charts with the main character at the top then add a word to each line below it.  

Each of the students is given a book, like a small mostly pictorial in nature along with some text. The student reads it and later is given a worksheet to describe the book in the form of a pyramid.

Line 1 — one word, stating the name of the main character

Line 2 — two words, describing the main character

Line 3 — three words, describing the setting

Line 4 — four words, stating the problem

Line 5 — five words, describing one event

Line 6 — six words, describing a second event

Line 7 — seven words, describing the third event

Line 8 — eight words, stating the solution to the problem

Small Books/ Pictorial Books of general knowledge, newspaper, yearbook, etc will be given to the students and ask them to learn/write a given topic like Capital of States, Name of Rivers, Name of Currencies, Name of Historical Monuments, etc. then they will discuss these topics in Library.

The book talk will be organized in the Library period in which the students will discuss the book read by them. They will talk about the title, kind of book, author, brief outline of the story, and different views of the story.

Community Resources

Students will be able to know about different fields of career.

They come to know the real situation of the field which is selected by the student.

Community resources are human, institutional and material resources that are available in the community where the school is located. Parents who are working in different professions such as lawyers, engineers, doctors, scientists, media persons, artists, counselors, psychologists, bank officers, postmasters, social workers etc are invited into the Library. Students are allowed to freely interact with them. Discussions are held on their professions and their responsibilities Institutional resources such as museums, galleries, factories, farms, offices, etc are also visited by the students. The Librarian may collect the contact details of the community resources and information regarding their availability for future use
