LIBRARY RULES
- All
students and staff of the school are members of the library.
- A
student can borrow only two books at a time for a period of two weeks.
- A
staff member can borrow maximum five books at a time for a period of one
month.
- Books
will be issued to the students, during the library periods. No book will
be issued or returned during the teaching hours.
- Marking,
underlining or writing on library books, periodicals, and newspapers is
strictly forbidden.
- Reference
books and current periodicals will not be issued to any member. These can
be consulted only in the library.
- If the
books are not returned within the specified time it will be viewed
seriously and fine will be charged as per rules.
- The
Librarian may call for a book at any time, even if the normal period of
loan has not expired.
- In
case of book is misused, wrongly handled or lost the person concerned will
have to replace the book or pay the current market price of the book.
- After
reading, make sure that the books, periodicals and newspapers are kept
back at their respective places.
- The
members should take good care of library furnishings and equipment. Make
sure the library looks as good when you leave as it did when you came in.
- Eatables
are not allowed in the Library.
- Library
computers are for academic purpose only. Do not tamper with the computer
settings. Follow the internet safety guidelines.
- A ‘No
Dues Certificate’ by each student is to be obtained from the Librarian
while his/her transfer/withdrawal from the school.
- Strict
order and silence shall be maintained in the library and speak softly if
needed

- Conducting
online library classes in which students are motivated and helped in
reading story with the help of screen sharing.
- Pdf/
link of story books should be sent to the students on WhatsApp groups so
as the students can read books at home. And help them to inculcate reading
habit .
- PPT(PowerPoint
presentation)on different topics such as ;Benefits of reading habits,
Guidance and career counseling ,Different book reviews etc should be shown
to the students (class 9th to12th) via online platform.
- Students
should be motivated to read Newspapers at home so that they can have
knowledge of general awareness, can enhance vocabulary and can gather
information about different topics.
- Creation
of YouTube channel for Advocacy of library activities.
- Enrichment
of library blog .
Library Activities
Ø Book Review Writing Competition: Book
Review writing Competition is being organized by
the Readers Club, LRC. The students/users from class VI to VIII is being
participated.
Ø Library copy writing: Library copy
is being maintained by the various classes from VI to IX. The Readers Club is
managing to organize the various activities.
Ø Career &
Counseling:- Career counseling is a regular feature in the Library
activities. Lectures and contact programmes of career counselors
from the various fields are being conducted in the Vidyalaya to help the
aspirants to choose right profession. Regular talk on upcoming entrance
examination is being delivered in the Library and assembly.
Ø Book Exhibition: A Book Exhibition is
being organized in the library in connection with World Book and Copyright Day
with the cooperation of various publication houses and distributors & NBT
New Delhi
Ø Best Reader Award and
certificate :- Two students one each from secondary and one from
senior secondary are selected on the basis of number of books read and overall
utilization of library resources and were awarded best reader award and
certificate.
Ø Quiz Competition:- Various
Quiz competitions to include subject based quiz competitions for classes VI to
XII were organized in LRC from time to time as a part of Reader’s club Activity
and participation of the students is appreciated by one and all.
Ø Science for Kids:- Learn
more about the amazing world of science by enjoying our fun science
experiments, cool facts, online games, free activities, ideas, lesson plans,
photos, quizzes, videos & science fair projects. An entertaining site full
of informative projects and activities.
Primary Class Library :-
The Primary Class Library plays a special role in the
School. It provides books and other print materials and multi-media resources
to meet the instructional needs of the community. These resources are properly
manipulated and fully utilized with the expertise of the media librarians and
skilled Library staff.
This is intended for the Class – I to Class V students. It
includes picture books, story books, Rhyming book and children's reference
materials. Every Class Teachers are playing the role of Librarian, they are
organizing their class library by issued 100 books per section, Champak
Magazines & CD-ROMs. They (Class Teachers) are really inculcating the
reading habits with the help of Class Library among the budding authors to
Library Area:-
Circulation Area - This is place where
books and other library materials are loaned out. The library is available
for client's use.
Reference Section- It houses up-dated reference
resources like encyclopedias, dictionaries, almanacs, yearbooks, atlases,
directories, etc. Vertical file materials are located here.
Reading Area - It houses the general
collection of books (books on generalities to history and biographies). Issues
of children's journals and periodicals can also be found here.
Fiction Book Section - Books written by
Drama, Novel, Poem, Prose, Short Story and Humor & satire authors.
(Including Nency Drew/ Enid Blyton/ Newbery award-winning books and classic
books)
Non Fiction Section - Home reading books
are found here. A comfortable reading area is also provided here.
Periodicals Area - Back issues of
periodicals for children are shelved here.
Faculty Section - Professional books,
journals, periodicals, manuals and guide books for teachers' instructional
needs and professional growth are stationed here.
Technical Services -
This is a working area where books are technically processed: collating,
stamping, accessioning, classifying and cataloging.
LIBRARY OVERDUE FINES :-
There is no provision of fine from the
students. However timely return of the books will be ensured by the
users. After two reminders, if a user fails to return the book, action will be
taken to recover the present cost of the book. However Rs. 1/- p.d.
will be recovered from the staff for late submission of books.
