PISA

PISA

The Programme for International Student Assessment (PISA) is a triennial international survey which aims to evaluate education systems worldwide by testing the skills and knowledge of 15-year-old students who are nearing the end of their compulsory education. PISA assesses how well they can apply what they learn in school to real-life situations. Over 90 countries have participated in the assessment so far which began in 2000. Every three years students are tested in the key subjects: reading, mathematics and science.

The aim of Pisa is to provide comparable data to help countries improve their education policies and outcomes by measuring problem-solving abilities and cognition of students.

India had last participated in Pisa in 2009, when it had ranked 73rd among 74 countries, above only Kyrgyzstan.

Creative and Critical Thinking (CCT) exercise is a joyful and engaging activity aimed at enhancing the creative and critical thinking ability of students which help stimulate their minds and prepare them to proactively tackle the challenges of the 21st century. The CBSE sends competency-based questions mapped to the curriculum and based on conceptual understanding of real-life situations for students to attempt. The questions include a mix of Mathematics, Science and Reading. On an average 10 questions are created for each of the 3 areas (Reading, Mathematics and Science). Students have an option of attempting the paper either in Hindi or English Medium.

CCT Test are Eligible for all the students studying in class 7 to 11 in UT Chandigarh and Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan / Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti across India .
